The 5/8ths (16mm) Samco Sport hose is
manufactured by hand using steel mandrels.
The mandrels represent the inside shape of the
hose. The composite rubber/fabric material
is wrapped around the mandrel in a number of
layers (plies) and thickness. When fully
wrapped the hose is treated to a high
temperature vulcanising treatment. This
produces a fully
composite structure with all the separate plies
melding together. The vulcanised hose is
removed from the mandrels and treated to a
final curing process. Eventually the hose is sent
to the inspection department for final finishing
quality control.

The Gates Green Stripe Firewall Heater Hose (FHH) kit with Breeze liner clamps provides far
superior protection for your cooling system than generic heater hose you buy at the
local auto parts store.

Our Land Cruisers normally run around 190-200 degrees water temperature. On hot days,
towing or wheeling, temperatures can sometimes easily reach 215-230 degrees. If your cooling
system isn't operating correctly, this can be a normal occurrence.

Generic heater hose Maximum operating temperature can be as low as 175 degrees. Usually
the specs aren't printed on the package because it is so low. It is a warped head
gamble you shouldn't take!
